With all that we do on computers now-a-days, it is important to make sure we take care of them so that our data remains safe. This video covers the measures that you can take to increase the life of your computer's hard drive. You can find all the links and notes used in this video at:

not all of them. i intended to add \"non-static\". bad mistake. thanks for posting that, though. it's critical information to know.

If your using a plastic extension as you are in the video, static shuldn't be a problem, should it?
I will add that it's recommended that the fans are disconnected from the motherboard (as the vacuum may make them spin creating a dynamo effect). It's probably a good idea to hold the fans still too as spinning them in this way might cause damage.
Nice video anyway, thanks for posting!![]()

You're welcome. The only way I learnt the tip was because I made a comment on a geeky forum (nothing against geeky forums btw lol) about how great a vacuum cleaned my pc out and I got slammed about static and the dynamo effect.
Keep up the good work!

You could also use online storage sites like the ones I use listed below.
http://www.adrive.com/
http://skydrive.live.com/
I'm sure there are more, but that's all I know of at the moment.

i haven't had any problems using vaccum extensions (as i never touch the circuitry of the computer with it), but other people have, so if you use a vaccum, make sure it's an anti-static vaccum.

most likely it's an error. that's almost 500 degrees fahrenheit…u could bake cookies on that in a matter of minutes. what you should do is find out what type of hard drive you have and then go to your hard drive manufacturers website. most hard drive manufacturers offer comparable diagnostic software meant specifically for their drives.

this really dont have much to do on this topic but its a tip i want to share *I Also Found that if you do defragmentation periodically it will make your hard drive slow down and not function correctly this effects the battery life if you have a laptop. They Said The more quicker in the move of hard drive, lesser work load on the battery which helps your battery to last longer.

Another way to increase the life of your harddrive is to not bang and drum on your laptop every other second
that crashed my computer twice in 3 months
