What is a heuristic virus? Norton 360 has just picked it up on my computer. It says "High" for risk status, but Norton website claims it to be a Very Low risk. The file was called "Suspicious.MH690.A". It seems that it was a false-positive, and it has also been removed from my PC, but I am wondering what it is.

Heuristic virus detection is a fancy way of a scanner saying, "I'm guessing that is a virus". it might be a false positive. leave it where it is and do this on-line scan to double check. if it is in the virus vault/chest/quarantine then restore it.
anyway do this on-line scan and see if it finds it too if not then you have your answer.

Why do I restore it? Hasn't it been removed from my computer? It says "Quarantine".

I don't have a answer to the question, but I can tell you that I do not recommend you to use norton, there is a free anti virus called avast that is so much better.
