I was wondering why when I burned the copy of that dvd image from the “how to hack wireless video”. the backtrack linux site i had to burn an image onto a blank dvd and now then it says to insert it before a restart and it will bring up the program. Well I have burned the image and when i insert it before startup it brings me to a program to burn the disc or something like that im frustrated because my landlords changed the security key on me and wont give it back and i am so confused and just want to get the wireless.

Ok..I am a rookie.. but I have followed everything on this and have no success. I failed right from the start.. first.. am I supposed to be able to get online on the back/track 4 OS? I click on mozilla icon and the browser opens and a welcome screen from backtrack 4 comes up.. but when I click on any of the bookmarks on the toolbar.. it won’t connect to anything.. I get the “address not found” page.

Hi,I have problems in the second window with this command: aireplay -ng -1 0 -a [bssid#] [wirelesscardname]
In the video, he pushed enter and everything went fine with the authentificating, but to me it displays only that it could not authentificate after several retries and I already tried this on three laptops (asus, dell, acer) and ts always the same. Where am I making an error? thank you very much for your ideas
You boot the computer to backtrack 4 with a cd, and when you restart the computers without the cd goes it back to windows? (or linux)

Put the disc in, restart the comp pressing F2 to bring up dios menu, go to boot, then put cd/dvd….. on top of the list, this will boot from disc. let it load then start.
does it show the persons computer in their network map? how can u detect if yours has been hacked?
srry sounded confusing, will it show hackers comp in the hackees network map
My university’s wifi is open but once you connect to it and try to browse,it would bring up a page asking for username and password,is it hackable? and how?pls respond!

help me, i can not find my wireless card name, i typed airmon-ng and just saw:” interface chipset drive” what can i do now?? i am using HP Compaq Presario CQ40.
Can this only work with BackTrack4? Because i have ubuntu and i dont want to install another OS on my computer.
i’m getting an error when i type the first command “etc/init.d/networking start”
